This set of pieces was inspired by the Italian Epiphany story about a wise old woman who was visited by the Magi on their way to Bethlehem.  They invited her to join them but she was in the middle of a big house cleaning project and said she could not leave. She later realized she was missing a great opportunity and tried, futilely, to catch up with them on her broomstick.  Instead, she flew around, leaving gifts and treats in celebration of the birth of Christ. Befana’s House tells the story of Befana at home in her own head enjoying her cleaning. Befana’s Flight is a fun little jaunt on a flying broom.
